I've attended a few workshops over the past couple of years, and gained some useful information and techniques from them, and most recently, a painting workshop hosted by RI member Chris Forsey. Chris' paintings are vibrant, energetic works, which although appear colourful, remain dedicated to form and tone, a mark of his innate skill as a draughtsman. The group was the typical mix of friendly, competent painters, which Chris, with his honest enthusiasm from the start, sparked a desire in everyone to experiment. Using ink, pastel, watercolour paint and various implements we set about splashing, scratching and generally making a fun-filled mess with some excellent results. What impressed me most was how everyone painted large and bold, and for each artist, there were new ideas to explore further. If you're feeling stuck, stifled or repetitive, sign up for one of Chris' workshops, you'll be surprised by what you can do. Details here >> ChrisForsey.com
